Excellent for scanning home photos, not that good for text. |
The scanner is very slim and light, but it does have a feeling of solidity to it. It is fairly quiet as scanners go although you will certainly know when it is working. It produces excellent colour scans of pictures, and is brilliant for doing several pictures at once as it splits up the scanned images into individual files. It probably is not the quickest scanner around for doing photos but it does the job well and is really good value in this area. The only thing it does not do very well is text, which is why I have only given it 4 stars. The supplied text recognition software does a middling job, but if you need to do a lot of text scanning then look elsewhere. It comes with the USB cable, image capture and editing software, text recognition software, plus drivers and utilities, and you can get it up and running in a few minutes. It will work with both USB1 and USB2 so you should have no trouble there. Overall then, if you want to do a lot of scanning of photos then this is really good value and looks like a bargain!

Excellent For Scanning Multiple Photos |
|
Use this if you need to scan a lot of Photos, One touch on the button and it will scan, align and seperate the photos. It then saves them as seperate pictures. We use it for Family History reasearch, it is so quick when scanning lots of pictures.
